Community Spirit is Alive and Well in Prague
At FriendShip Prague, we are constantly amazed by the generosity of our community, and over the past few weeks we have been fortunate to receive support from two incredible fundraising efforts. Both Žižkovšiška and Riverside School Showing Community Spirit is Alive and Well in Prague
A massive thank you to Žižkovšiška and to Beatrix and Adel Bravo for organising a fantastic fundraising event that raised an incredible €600. We would also like to thank the bands Shelters and The Roundabouts, along with DJ Nova Regina, who provided the entertainment and helped make the evening such a success.
“Thanks to these funds, FriendShip Prague was able to purchase much needed essentials for our friends on the streets, including deodorant, shower gel, socks, hats, office supplies, and ten tents which were ordered online”.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the students and staff of Riverside School Prague. After researching charitable organisations across Prague, the Year 6 Future Leaders chose FriendShip Prague as the cause they wanted to support. The students organised and ran a Charity Week, raising an amazing 12,531 CZK through their hard work and creativity.
The Riverside team have previously supported our "Fill a Sock" campaigns, and it is inspiring to see the next generation continuing to show such compassion for those less fortunate in our city.
The donations received from both fundraising efforts will help us continue providing practical support to people experiencing homelessness and hardship in Prague. Funds will go towards food, clothing, hygiene products, emergency supplies, tents, and other essential items that make a real difference to the lives of our friends on the streets.
Christy & Emmanuelle purchasing items to be distributed to our friends along with our weekly food and clothes this weekend.
Most importantly, these acts of kindness remind people that they are not forgotten. They bring dignity, hope, and often a smile to someone facing a difficult day.
Community spirit like this is what keeps FriendShip Prague going. As long as we are here, we will continue striving to put food in bellies, clothes on backs, and smiles on faces.
