FriendShip Prague works with international schools across the city to give students meaningful, hands on opportunities to support their local community while developing real world skills.
We currently partner with Prague British International School, where students volunteer with us primarily one Saturday per month alongside FriendShip Prague volunteer and school representative Louise McCloy. We have also recently presented to Park Lane International School and are building further opportunities for student involvement.
Ways Students Can Get Involved
Weekly Volunteering (Friday Preparation / Saturday Outreach)
Students can join our regular sessions:
Fridays: Preparing food, sorting clothing, organising supplies
Saturdays: Direct outreach, distributing food and engaging with people
This gives students direct exposure to real community work and develops empathy, communication, and teamwork.
School Group Volunteering Days
We can organise structured group sessions for classes or student groups. These are ideal for:
Service learning programmes
Team building with purpose
Short term impact projects
Student Led Initiatives
We support students who want to take ownership of projects such as:
Fundraising campaigns
Awareness initiatives
Event organisation
This encourages leadership, planning, and accountability.
Friendship Prague
Coordinator Certificate Programme
Our Coordinator Programme is designed for students who want deeper involvement and leadership experience.
Students commit to 4 consecutive weeks of volunteering
This typically includes 3 preparation sessions (Fridays) and 1 outreach (Saturday) (or the reverse)
On the 5th week, the student steps into a coordinator role
In this role, students:Help manage volunteer teams
Oversee preparation and distribution processes
Assist with logistics and organisation of supplies
Support new volunteers and guide them through tasks
Take responsibility for parts of the operation in a live environment
This is practical, hands on management experience. Students are not observing. They are actively contributing to the running of operations.
On completion, students receive a FriendShip Prague Coordinator Certificate, recognising:
Leadership
Reliability
Initiative
Community impact
This programme is highly valuable for CVs, university applications, and personal development.
Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Volunteering
We also support students completing the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
Students can log their volunteering hours with FriendShip Prague as part of their award requirements. Our structured weekly activities provide:
Consistent volunteering opportunities
Verifiable hours
Meaningful engagement with real community impact
We can provide confirmation and support documentation where required.
Work With Us
We are open to building long term partnerships with schools that want to give students more than just theory.
If you or your school is interested in volunteering, structured programmes, or collaboration.
